Course Description
This 1-day course combines an overview of functionality and a dynamic training portion that takes place on the range. The course is designed specifically for a law enforcement and a provides trainer-level education about MRDS usage, care, and training tactics.
This training and certification are for those whose department is considering adding an MRDS to their duty pistol, or for those wanting to improve their training, tactics and operation of an existing MRDS equipped duty pistol.

Buck serves as Director Of Training at Aimpoint Inc. and has over 25 years experience in the military and firearms industry.
COURSE PREREQUISITES
Each attendee must be physically fit for duty and be able to perform the practical and tactical applications of these products. This training is only open to active Law Enforcement, Corrections, Armed Government Agency, and relevant military personnel.
Course Overview
- Context and physiology
- The science behind how an MRDS universally improves officer effectiveness with their duty firearm.
- How other departments have adapted MRDS on to their duty pistols. Examples of successes and struggles.
- Equipment (sight) specifics
- Product familiarization and technical education. You will be brought through the optic from top to bottom until you have a deep understanding of the components and their use.
- Training methodology
- How to get your team proficient with a new MRDS. Best practices for duty firearm training taught by some of the best trainers in North America
- On Range: Introduction to PMO (Pistol Mounted Optic)
- Hands-on trigger time.
- Ascending range drills supporting acquisition of the red dot.
- Zeroing
- How to sight in your firearm.
