GLOCK SUPPORTS LAW ENFORCEMENT AT THE
RAMPART RANGE DAY & EXPO
When evaluating firearms, nothing can replace the real-world experience of hands-on range time with the guidance of experienced professionals by your side. When the product you are evaluating is going to be utilized by a Law Enforcement or military end user, that experience is essential. That is why Rampart Corp. was so pleased once again to welcome back GLOCK to its annual Range Day & Expo as a premier exhibitor for the 10th year in a row and to showcase GLOCK firearms to the Canadian military and Law Enforcement community.
ABOUT THE RAMPART RANGE DAY & EXPO
The Rampart Range Day & Expo is Canada’s largest and preeminent military and Law Enforcement event of its kind. This dynamic event is hosted by Rampart, GLOCK’s exclusive distributor for military and Law Enforcement end users in Canada. The Rampart Range Day & Expo is a unique networking and training opportunity that brings end users together with the best operational equipment suppliers in Canada to highlight industry-leading solutions. Events of this kind are exceedingly rare in Canada. End users get hands-on experience with the latest firearms, tactical equipment, and technology, with product experts at the ready to talk to them about their specific requirements. Attendees also get the opportunity to meet with other industry personnel to discuss challenges and share solutions.
RANGE DAY FEATURES A LARGE EXHIBITIOR TENT AND OVER 40 RANGE BAYS
Rampart celebrates its 13th Range Day & Expo on May 28th, 2024, in Ottawa, Ontario. More than 700 active Law Enforcement and military personnel will be in attendance from across Canada. The Rampart Range Day & Expo welcomes industry professionals in all roles — from frontline officers, policy advisors, and buyers to tier-one Special Forces members.
GLOCK AND RAMPART RANGE DAY: A SHARED VISON
The Rampart Range Day & Expo was founded by Rampart’s President Mike Klein in 2010. “It started off as 10 folding tables and a few pop-up tents,” Mike recalls. “No one was doing anything like this for Canadian military and Law Enforcement, which presented us with a huge opportunity to help connect end users with industry.” There was obviously a desire for an event of this type as it quickly expanded from there to become the largest event of its kind in the country. GLOCK saw this potential early on and has been a premier exhibitor at the Range Day and Expo for a decade. “We are very fortunate in having the relationship we do with GLOCK, they shared our vision for what this event could be,” says Mike.
“I have watched the range day grow each year along with Rampart. They offer incredible support to the Law Enforcement and military communities and the range day is the event to experience that support. As our exclusive distributor they demonstrate on a daily basis why they are leading the industry in Canada.” says James R. Cassells GLOCK Inc., Canadian Sales Manager
GLOCK and Rampart have a longstanding history with Law Enforcement in Canada. Both companies understand that a large part of being the number-one most-used pistol for Law Enforcement in Canada is the commitment to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with all end users who take their GLOCK with them into harm’s way. The Rampart Range Day & Expo isn’t simply about interactions between suppliers with Law Enforcement and military end users, that’s just the beginning. Since its inception, the event has expanded to offer unique solution-development and training offerings. These are key opportunities to show how GLOCK and Rampart truly go above and beyond to support their customers.
THE IMPORTANCE OF FOCUSING ON THE END-USER
While the Rampart Range Day & Expo has expanded rapidly, it remains a private event, exclusive to industry professional invitees. With modern policing practices and requirements changing so rapidly, being able to swap lessons and collaborate to find best practices with peers facing the same challenges is invaluable. The exclusive Rampart Range Day & Expo provides the perfect environment to foster these networking opportunities.
pairing requirements with product
The Rampart Range Day & Expo goes above and beyond the traditional concept of a trade show where individual products are displayed in a passive manner. Rampart focuses on something more critical and practical: solution development. At the Range Day, the emphasis is on exposing professionals to a wide array of resources that provide not just products but comprehensive solutions — be it a single key item, a system of products, or even a training and qualification program. Rampart , as Canada’s largest distributor of equipment for Law Enforcement, has the advantage of being able to connect with customers to arrange specific meetings and demonstrations for agencies wishing to learn more about a subject.
A very successful example of Rampart’s ability to match customer requirements with product offerings at Range Day has been pairing GLOCK’s line of MOS pistols with the Aimpoint ACRO P-2 MRDS and holster manufacturers. This kind of demonstration provides a much more well-rounded introduction to the products and ultimately gives the user a more comprehensive experience. As multiple manufacturers are being represented for agency demonstrations, the Rampart Range Day & Expo gives buyers and end users the time and space to discuss requirements with suppliers and try multiple solutions.

PAIRING REQUIREMENTS WITH TRAINING
In the ever-evolving landscape of Law Enforcement, the concept of “requirements” is not always product-first. Increasingly, training is recognized as the immediate priority that opens the door to products. In 2023, Rampart expanded the Range Day to be immediately followed up with the Rampart Training Week. This primarily offering allows attendees to take part in a variety of training programs and certifications — mostly all completely free of charge.
At the inaugural Rampart Training Week, one of the most popular certification offerings was the GLOCK Armorer Certification Course, where three classes of more than 35 officers all took part in learning the ins-and-outs of GLOCK pistols and ultimately returned home with a new or renewed certification. These kinds of training programs are extremely important in continuing to re-enforce the profile of GLOCK throughout the Canadian Law Enforcement and military community. When customers get an opportunity like this to get a first-hand look into the engineering of a GLOCK pistol and come to understand its quality, simplicity, and safety, the experience can be transformative.
AIMPOINT’S MRDS COURSE AT RAMPART TRAINING WEEK
Other areas of training offered throughout the week focus on emerging and developing areas of policing. For example, at the 2023 Training Week, Rampart offered a workshop and live-fire training session developed by a team of Canadian experts that coached officers in the drafting, presentation, and implementation of a 40mm less-lethal program into their department. This course took the experience and best practices of other departments that have gone through this implementation to help attendees develop an effective, complete proposal that they can then bring back to their agency for review and discussion. The courses offered at the Rampart Training Week provide the keys to success for agencies and ultimately lead to a more equipped and successful Law Enforcement officer.
LEADING THE WAY IN CANADA
Rampart will continue to find ways to expand its offerings at the Range Day and its accompanying Training Week by adding more innovative product and training solutions. Working together with GLOCK has allowed the Rampart Range Day & Expo to become the premier event of its type in Canada, and Rampart International looks forward to building on this legacy of success with GLOCK in 2024 and beyond.
